in a series of hearings. the heads of j.p. morgan chase, bank of america and goldman sax are testifying on wednesday and thursday. this week's hearings come as the big banks give out huge bonuses. the new york times reports this could be one of the largest and most controversial bonus seasons in history. goldman sax is expected to pay an average bonus of $595,000 each. one of the biggest payouts ever. >>> a study of all the recent spending on road and bridge construction found it had no affect on unemployment. the associated press study found you can employment rates rose and fell regardless of how much stimulus money was used for transportation. the result of the study comes as president obama is calling for another stimulus bill which relies in part on more road and bridge spending. >>> today leaders in the house and senate will meet to try to hammer out a compromise health care reform bill. the house version may wind up as a casualty of compromise. the president is scheduled to meet with leaders to stop attacks on high end insurance plans. >>> today human rights activists will gather

president obama announced a renewed effort to help america's middle class he will reportedly try to freeze part of the budget. the associated press reports the freeze will affect domestic programs and it is part of the president's effort to control the deficit. it will start next year and last until 2014. if approved by congress the freeze would not affect the pentagon, veterans administration, homeland security or foreign aid. >>> chairman ben bernanke and his federal reserve colleagues begin a two-day meeting to estimate the strength of the economic recovery. the fed is expected to keep the rate at a record low near zero. dr. bernanke's term expires january 31st and the white house is lobbying hard to have him keep his job for another four years. >>> today a congressional commission is due to issue a report card on terror threats to the united states. this comes days after the airing of a new tape which appears to be from osama bin laden and weeks after the failed christmas day plane bombing. >>> tonight, parents if fair tax county will have another chance to speak out against a series o

they will put out some kind of contract with america style blueprint and talk what they would do if they were elected back in the majority. the senate we are not seeing something on that side but over the weekend you had senator jim demint, he was talking an massachusetts and he said this is something we are happy about clearly this was a sign that people aren't happy with president obama and where the democrats are taking things but we are not yet earned the support of the american public. they are not happy with us either. and he was making the.republicans have some work to do, as well. if you look at the polling, people don't like either party. but it happens to be that democrats are in charge and people don't like incumbents right now. they want change and feel the party in power is not delivering the change. and it has been a year and we have talked about this before they get impatient. >> eight years versus a year. people are tired. >> that's right. wednesday will be critical. the president needs to talk substance and set a tone to get people fired up and feeling good about the country
